We fight poverty worldwide to give everyone the chance to thrive

Story

Ok,

here’s the short of it. I am cycling to Copenhagen in December over the period in which major western powers are meeting there to discuss the future of our (World's) action on the 'elephant in the room' issue of climate change.

Having done very little personal fundraising in the past other than taking part in a 6k jog around Loughborough dressed as a fairy last year (see picture for proof) I am aware that this is a massive undertaking, not least for the reason that I haven’t actually sat on a bike since I was 15. I know that my target is an ambitious one but also a do-able one and if you are reading this then I am asking for your assistance in a practice that will surely render my calf muscles redundant.

The money raised will be going to Christian Aid, the international development organisation I volunteered for throughout last year and one who has the admirable goal of worldwide poverty elimination. Having first hand witnessed the work that Christian Aid is helping to achieve whilst on a trip to the Democratic of Congo in Africa last October (If you know me well then it’s the one thing I haven’t shut up about for the past twelve months) I wholeheartedly want to support them and their awesome work.

So what do you say? Would you like to help me systematically destroy my body, use up all of my holidays before Christmas, dress in Lycra and use nothing but leg power to get me to Denmark so I can lend my voice in support of some of the poorest people in the world?

Jim

P.S. I am absolutely serious about the Lycra, but only if I raise my target.
