January can be a bit of a bleak month (cold, wet, dry January enthusiasts etc) so what better way to start the year than running every day? I'm taking part in RED (Run Every Day) January for Mind, the mental health charity. I'm pretty sure we at least all know people who have times when their mental health isn't as well as at other times (and if you don't then maybe you could be being a better friend to someone) or maybe you have personal experience. Mind can be a great source of help to people when they perhaps don't know where else to go, and it also does some great work raising awareness of mental health issues. 

To this end, I would be extremely grateful if you sponsored me to provide some encouragement on all these dismal early mornings to come! To anyone who finds this endeavour a surprise because my more natural habitat is some kind of drinking establishment - feel free to believe it when you see it and sponsor me at the end of the month and in the meantime we will go for drinks to make this more challenging. If sponsorship isn't your bag then please take the opportunity to speak to someone you haven't spoken to in a while or someone you might be a bit worried about.
