In August 2013 our lovely friends Tom and Emily had the news that every parent would dread to hear, their beautiful 16 month old daughter Madison had Leukemia. It was a huge shock for them and for all the family and friends around them. Madison has been undergoing treatment since August at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Things were going great and Madison quickly went into remission but just recently she has taken a turn for the worse and the gruelling days of chemotherapy are taking their toll coupled with the fact that she is to undertake radiotherapy as soon as she turns 2 and a stem cell transplant.

Tom and Emily have left Rob and I aghast with their strength and courage, I am sure times have been very tough for them but they always seem to stay positive and fight through. And then there is Madison who has had to take all of this treatment on her very little shoulders. She is amazing and I want to raise money to help her treatment progress and to help others at the Royal Marsden. Tom and Emily have asked us to raise money for this charity as they have been monumentous in aiding little M's recovery.

So I am running the half marathon in Bratislava, to kick things off, thats 13 miles, or 20.92 kms to us Europeans, and a few 10kms to get into the swing of things.
