I will be doing the Annapurna base camp, which is to trek up the Annapurna Mountain in the Himalayas, Nepal.

Itinerary:

Nov17-Day 01: Drive to trailhead Phedi from Pokhara & trek to Pothana Deurali (2150m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov18-Day 02: Pothana Deurali trek to Hot spring (1750m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov19-Day 03: Hot spring hike to Sinwa (2350m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov20-Day 04: Sinwa hike to Himalaya (2900m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov21-Day 05: Himalaya (2900m) hike to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3720m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov22-Day 06: MBC (3720m hike to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov23-Day 07: ABC (4130m) trek back to Bamboo (2340m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov24-Day 08: Bamboo (2340m) trek back to Chhomrong (2170m) overnight at teahouse lodge.
Nov25-Day 09: Chhomrong (2170m) trek to. Ghandruk (1970m)
Nov26-Day 10: Ghandruk - Nayapul (1070m) & drive back to Pokhara.

This is the most challenging thing I have ever done. I have not ever climbed a mountain or done anything like this before in my life!!

I plan to raise funds for ‘Up on Downs’. Up on Downs is a charitable organisation for children and adults of all ages, who have Down syndrome. The money I raise will be used to set up a ‘Chatterbox’ home loan scheme. A ‘Chatterbox is a covered shoebox containing books and exciting objects that the children abd adults will want to read, play with and talk about with their families. The parents and children will be given the chance to put all of their own ideas into the chatterboxes, based on each individual’s interests.
