Hello one and all!

Right... the big sell! Well actually no, it doesn't need a big sell at all. We are 2 people (questionable?) who wanted to take on a challenge that would inspire us, push us to our limits and ultimately be hugely rewarding to us and the charity we are doing it all for. 

So why cycle 600 miles across Vietnam? Well, why not? Let's be honest running is just boring. By cycling we get to see so much of what is a beautifully stunning country. Our route takes us from the capital Hanoi, on undulating roads through valleys, plantations and many remote villages. We eventually finish in the frontier town of Sa Pa. It's a big, big challenge. We will be cycling for 7 or 8 hours every day for 2 weeks. This is something we have never done before, but a challenge we intend to embrace whole heatedly. There are a lot of training hours ahead of us, but we can't wait!

So why The Curing Parkinson's Trust? To put it simply, my Gran recently passed away, after suffering the effects of an advanced form of the disease. I have seen first hand what is does to people. There are so many charities out there, all of which are hugely important, but Parkinson's disease often gets overlooked. This is something I, with Guy, want to try and start to change. Parkinson's disease is found all over the world. Exact global figures are not always available, though it is estimated that 4 million people worldwide have the condition. With an ever aging population it is something that is going to affect more and more people.

So, after all of that, I can't see why any one of you wouldn't want to give us as much as you possibly can! £6,000 is a large total, but just think of the good it could do. We are coming out of recession now, so that is no longer an excuse! Walk home instead of getting a taxi, don't buy those new shoes...just give all the money you can to us and the wonderfully lovely people from The Curing Parkinson's Trust. 

NOTE - we have paid for the flights etc. with our own money. Every penny that you kindly donate will go to charity... and not our Hanoi beer fund (which is being taken care of by ourselves, so don't you worry about that!).
