I'm 12 and running a marathon down the Thames for both my grandads. One of them has made a  full recovery from prostate cancer after being diagnosed just over a year ago. Unfortunately the other, soon after the first one was cured, was diagnosed with a more serious form of cancer and quite recently it was discovered to have spread to another part of his body. He has a major op in the next few weeks and we have our fingers crossed he will get through it.

Charities and organistations like cancer research have helped discover new treatments and ways to cure cancer. For me its one of the best charities out there. It has saved countless lives and one day it could help save someone you know or love.
