Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The majority of the West Bank has been under both military and civil Israeli control since 1967.  As Palestinian families grow, they need to build on their own land to house their relatives.  97% of applications for permits to build in this way are refused, thus pressurising Palestinian families to build 'illegally'.  This makes their homes subject to demolition at little notice, rendering families homeless.  Despite it being illegal under international law, Israel has demolished tens of thousands of Palestinian homes since 1967, forcing families off their own land.  It is an intolerable injustice and deeply demoralising to those directly affected.  Home re-builds (using  skilled local builders and internationals as labourers) are small but deeply symbolic acts of non-violent resistance to Israeli Occupation and of solidarity with victimised Palestinian families.  Donations of any size will help pay builders  and purchase materials, thus directly benefiting a local family in the Bethlehem area which has been identified by their local village council as most in need.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
