I decided to run the Manchester 10k for a number of personal reasons. Initially this was to get fit, have a goal to achieve and to prove to people that I can and will run a 10k race. This provided me with the ideal opportunity to also give something back to the local community.

Smaller local charities perhaps find it a little more difficult to raise funds. Whilst all charities are in need of additional income to provide their care, I decided to run for St Ann's Hospice. They provide care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers in Greater Manchester. Please visit their webpage to see what amazing work they provide.
