Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

Dear Friends…

After intense press speculation in recent weeks, I can exclusively reveal that I am retiring from international running in April 2010 as I run the London Marathon for the very last time (and for the record it also happens to be my first marathon).

Should I win the marathon, I promise I will do a lap of honour...

As some you may be aware, my late mother was cared for at the Ty Olwen Hospice in Swansea in the early part of 2005.

The staff at Ty Olwen provided excellent care for my mother. At the same time I witnessed how under-resourced/funded the hospice was.

Thus, on Sunday April 25th I will be running for Help The Hospices Charity - http://www.helpthehospices.org.uk/

I appreciate we are in the midst of the greatest recession of all time, but if anyone would like to donate then it would be very much appreciated.

Thank You,

JW
