My story
UPDATE: 21/6/2010
Well, we did it. Legs are sore but morale is good. There were some grim times on the trip last week but the weather was kind to us, and fuelled by hundreds of Jaffa cakes, we rode through some amazing country. To all those who have already sponsored us, many many thanks - your money will be well used by this most worthwhile of charities.
Hello - thanks for looking at the page. Myself and two colleagues who work in Fleet Sales (Truck) for Mercedes are riding from the Mercedes-Benz Truck Factory in Woerth (near Stuttgart) to the Head Office for Mercedes-Benz in the UK in Milton Keynes. This is approx 500miles and we plan on riding relay style to complete this distance in three days.
Bikes are ready, kit is ready, route is planned and legs are shaved!
Day one is 197 miles with 4100 metres of climbing from Woerth through the Ardennes region of Belgium
Day two is 202 miles with 1100 metres of climbing up to the Hook of Holland
Day three is the final run from Harwich to Milton Keynes and is 102miles with 980 metres of climbing

My charity
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association
Charity Registration No. in England and Wales 209617 and Scotland SC038979
The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
