Story
Thanks for donating.
Just in case you don't know the story - about 3 or 4 years ago my mum died of cancer.
She chose to hide the truth of the situation from everyone so we didn't really know it was terminal until the very end. Only in the last couple of weeks of her life, my dad recruited help from Marie Curie Cancer Care - in fact he said they're really the only people who made a difference; providing a wheelchair so she could get around and installing a bed downstairs in the house because she couldn't manage the stairs anymore.
So I'm going to do something to pay back the debt. The London 10 kilometre run on the morning of the 11th July. And I'm aiming to raise over £150 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
I plan to race against time to try and beat thresholds and raise more money. A recent treadmill run over 2 kilometres took 12 mins so I should take about an hour. On that basis I've estimated targets.
All you need to do is choose one of the three options (Bronze, Silver, Gold) that you feel comfortable with and post a message to let me know your choice. Once the race is run, I'll let you know my confirmed time and then you know how much to pay. Alternatively, if you just fancy a straightforward donation then feel free. I just like to make it fun and set myself a challenge.
1. Bronze: 70mins+ = £1 / 60-70 mins = £2 / 54-60 mins = £3 / Under 54 mins = £5
2. Silver: 70 mins+ = £2 / 60-70 mins = £4 / 54-60 mins = £6 / Under 54 mins = £8
3. Gold: 70 mins+ = £3 / 60-70 mins = £6 / 54-60 mins = £8 / Under 54 mins = £10
Will it be too crowded for me to run properly ? Will it be too hot ? Will I feel a rush of adrenaline and run faster ?
Just let me know which of the three options you prefer (Bronze, Silver, Gold), or whether you'd like to make a straight donation.
