Hi and welcome our JustGiving site.

In early July this year we (Steve and I) will take a train up to Scotland and within 2 hours off the carriage onto the platform we will be on a ferry departing Ardrossan on the Scotland's West coast to arrive in Brodick on Arran's East coast.  After arriving at Brodick we will begin a 5 day trek around the coast of Arran braving all sorts of perilous perils and risky risks such as petulant dragons, mischievous elves (or elfs) and frustrated wizards trying to reclaim rings (Steve reckons its looks like that sort of place... I'm inclined to agree).  

In all seriousness it will be challenging and a lot fun for us both.  Neither of us have a great deal of experience with expeditions (I use the term in the loosest sense) and I don't doubt that the first training achieved will be on walking from the bus stop to the train station.  This considered we think that is a good opportunity to raise money for Mountain Rescue (Steve owes them one at any rate) and since we are in Scotland we will walk for Scottish Mountain Rescue in particular.
