Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Brighton Marathon in April to raise money for the highly valuable charity Adoption UK. Increasingly older, more traumatised children are being adopted and it's essential that parents (and the children) get the right support throughout thier challenging journey. Furthermore, thousands of older chldren are being pushed and pulled through the foster care system- staying with an average of 4.5 families before the age of 16, mainly because of a lack of adopters. Being adopted myself, this is close to my heart.
Adoption UK's mission statement:
Adoption UK helps to make adoptions work and promotes loving and supporting relationships between children and their adoptive parents. It provides independent support, information and advice on good practice to all concerned with adoption. In particular, it offers a wealth of relevant experience from generations of adoptive families to prospective and established adopters and to all those who work with them.
About 3 months ago when I had started to train I was a wheezing wreck. Although things have improved on the training front I am not in marathon shape and still often resemble a wheezing wreck! So, your donations will really be valuable in terms of encouraging me to push myself in training and get to a point where I am less wheezing!!
