Cam-Mind is a Cambridge based Charity who for the past
102 years have been working to support people in the local community
with mental health problems, funded purely from voluntary contributions.
In the UK, 1 in 4 people suffer from mental health
problems of one sort or another. This can range from mild depression
through eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders to problems
requiring long term hospitalisation.
I am fully aware of the good work that Cam-Mind undertake
within the community and will do everything that I can to help them
continue for another 100+ years.
The first On-Footse 100 was held in 2008 to celebrate
their 100th anniversary and I was one of the people who took part along
with 3 other members of ARM staff:
Edmund Player
Crispin Semmens
Dan Wilson
They all did extremely well and I finished 40th, in 12m
20s. I did, narrowly, beat Lily the Panda and 4 people didn't finish so,
technically, I wasn't the last.
I will be there again this year and am hoping to get in
the sub 12 minute 18 seconds. My doctor said I shoud get more exercise,
so I have stopped smoking packet cigarettes and now roll my own!
I hope a large number of you will join me either on track or cheering me on, as I will most definitely need it."
