Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In July 2015 Jonathan and I arrived at Preston hospital to give birth to our bundle of joy at 40wks. We were prepared for our lives to be turned upside down with sleepless nights, feeding and nappy changing. However we were not in the slightest bit prepared for what happened next.

Our son Joseph Sterling Lees was 'born sleeping' following a straight forward pregnancy and labour. We were in total shock and disbelief.

Jonathan and I stayed together on the delivery suite over the next few days and Joseph was able to stay with us. During this time we bathed and dressed Joseph and had plenty of cuddles with him. We took lots of photos and made hand and footprints.

Having time on the unit allowed us to make some wonderful memories that we will treasure forever in our hearts. We were offered practical support to help with things such as the birth registration and making decisions about a post mortem and funeral arrangements.

The care and support that we received has allowed us to start to come to terms with what has happened.

The Baby Beat Appeal provides funding for the latest equipment, facilitates stillbirth research and offers bereavement counselling. We are raising money for this wonderful charity in loving memory of Joseph.

Thank-you for your support.
