We raise funds for local Leukaemia patients to "help make life a little easier"

Story

We are raising money for The Candice Colley Foundation in memory of Joy Astbury, who sadly passed away on Wednesday 21st July. I’m sure many of you will have fond memories of her charismatic, charming and fun nature.

The foundation aims to help Leukaemia and other blood cancer patients and their families, supporting The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at The Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Joy's husband Chris died of cancer of the bone marrow in 1985 and since then she has contributed to bone marrow research projects. Consequently this charity is dear to her heart.

As the funeral will be family flowers only, this page has been set up for anyone wishing to make a donation to honour her memory. It will be kept open until the end of August at which time all donations will be sent to the charity.

Thank you to all who have been in touch with messages of condolence. We have been truly moved by your kindness and sympathies.
