Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

About 5 years ago my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, a progressive neurological condition. The cause is not known and there is currently no cure. Parkinson's UK works tirelessly looking for a cure, and provides a great deal of support to sufferers and their families in their local communities.

I have chosen to run the Causeway Coastal Half Marathon as this area of Northern Ireland holds many special family memories. The Antrim coastline is one the most beautiful coastlines in the world so hopefully the views will distract me from any discomfort I may feel during this challenging run. However, as I run I will be remembering that many simple tasks many of us take for granted are a continual daily struggle for my Dad and other Parkinson's sufferers.
