I am undertaking the physical and mental challenge of a lifetime with a group of 9 motivated individuals who will be Trekking through the Himalayas in Sepetmber 2013 with the Goal of raising 20K for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.I have fully funded the cost of the trip myself so all funds raised will go directly to patient care. In front of us is a gruelling schedule of 14 months of fundraising and fitness training. The Hospice needs to earn £4500 per day from fundraising activites to continue to provide such an outstanding level of support to their patients and familys both in the Hospice and in their own homes. Please help in whatever way you can. The Trek involves trekking at altitude for 7/8 hours per day typically covering between 17 to 25km each day, camping overnight with no facitilities. It will be one of the most difficult challenges I have every undertaken but nothing compared to the challenges faced by those who use the Hospice and their families. This became shockingly real for me when my sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2011, hearing that a loved one has cancer was devastating for not only for Carole but for her friends and family. Things went well for Carole who was stronger  and braver than anyone I know, but I can only imagine the amount of support we would have all needed had things been different. Please consider helping me raise funds to support families who are not as lucky.
