Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On January 19th three friends and I will be flying to Tanzania to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. This is a high altitude trek so not without it's risks. I'm a little scared but very excited. Clare, Bev and I have known each other since our sons were born. The boys all have Down Syndrome. Now they're a little older we thought it was time for a bit of a challenge. And Julia is joining us for fun and moral support! We'd like to try and raise as much as possible for charities close to our hearts.
Down Syndrome Extra21 is an Essex based group providing advocacy, information, support and friendship for people with Down Syndrome and their families. Madhavan, Erin, Edward and I have enjoyed meeting other families at Extra21 social events and look forward to all the activities Ed could be part of in the future. Edward is delightful. He's cheeky, fun, sweet and naughty just like any child. We hope he will grow up to have good friends, a good education, fulfilling work and an independent life and we know Extra21 will help us and him to achieve this.
Climbing Kilimanjaro is daunting. It's going to be hard, it's going to be cold and it's going to be uncomfortable but it's going to be worth it.
