Finsished the London Marathon! Time completed in 4hours 10mins so really pleased....it was a fantastic day and the Crowd and Support were fantastic.....here is the route.

Held my pace avg 9min per mile up to 20miles then dropped to avag 10min Miles....really pleased with the pace....

Many thanks for everyones Support over the past few months - the total is now over £4,600! This week the "tapering" continues - which means - less running / more sleeping and eating!

Only 1.5 weeks to go till Marathon! Total on Just Giving is looking really good - over £4,500! Thank you all very much....it has really helped over the last few months. Have started "tapering" over the last few days - which basically means reduce the mileage and rest! Its great! I did the london Bridge > Home Run again on Good Friday - 13miles. This week is light runs and a 1 hour Light run this weekend....Here is Fridays London Bridge Run

Completed final LONG training run on Saturday....20miles! Thats the longest run and now I start 3 weeks of tapering. The mid week distances will continue and the Weekend long runs - but the mileage reduces. Next weekends long run will be 15miles followed by 10miles....almost there! We held a Big Fund Raiser on Sunday and have raised over £1,000 from the day which will be adding to the Charity Appeal over the next few days. Many thanks for everones support....the total is now over £3,400!

Another LONG Run completed!......did a couple of gentle 5 / 6 milers during the week and prepared for the Sunday Long Run. I got the train with Lorrain and John to London and Ran 19miles of the Marathon Route. Great run and sports massage in the evening sorted my legs out! See the Run here :

Mothers Day! Training contiuned after seeing the Physio on Thursday night....my back is still inflamed around the Facia Joints but Nurofen seems to be working! I bought some Larey Green Runners to celebrate on Friday and did a gentle 5.5miles on Friday Night. No problems with back....so went to my long awaited "Long Run" - 18miles with Lorraine. We ran from London Bridge back to Oprington....legs were shot by the end of it but really pleased that my Back held out. Planning next Long Run for next weekend - we are going to do 18miles of the Marathon Route from Tower Bridge into Docklands and back out....Thanks for your support - it is really keeping me going!

Grrrrrr - after last weekends long Run I have had a "twinge" in my back all week - I ran 3miles on Monday and had to walk most of it then 6miles Wednesday and 5miles Thursday. I went to the Physio tonight and it seems my Pelvis has dropped on one side and my Vertebrae is now touching a nerve.....not good. Had electrolysis and Nurofen and have to go back in 1 week but it means I will loose a week.....means only 5 weeks to go then!

Ahhhhhhhh...only 7.5 weeks to go!!! last few weeks have finsihed the "Foundation" weeks and now things really start to get serious. The Last few weekend Runs have been approx 1.5hours - 10miles - but really starting to up the distance now! This weekend will be approx 2.5hour - 15miles! Getting the train to London bridge and running back Home! Thanks for all your Supoprt.....it does mean a lot - Cheers JB

Starting week 5 now of the 13week plan. Missed a week over the last couple of weeks as had a Cold but back on it now....doing interval training and Hill work plus Gym work during the week and then put in a couple of longer runs in over the weekends. Up to 8miles at the moment. Over the next couple weeks this increases quickly to 15miles - so here we go! Only 10 weeks to go.....many thanks for all your support and donations to my Mums Charity - it really does mean a lot to us....

Well - starting week 3 of the 13 week plan.....all going well....have been Running at Work with Julian and Will and at the weekends with Lorraine which all helps the motivation - the other runs are tougher as they are Cold and Dark when I get home from Work......heads up though as had loads of Sponsorship so far and today had confirmation that my Empoyer has matched £250 for Fundraising in 2011 and was paid into the National Brain Appeal Account today (and that will be another £250 matched for 2012 raising!)
Just returned from a weeks Skiing in France - amazing snow / kids ad a GREAT time....now its time to Head Down and crack on with the Training. Havent run for a few weeks as had a Cold during most of December and loads of Christmas Parties! But just started again couple of days agao and Running agin tonight....oh yes an I have a new Garmin ForeRunner GPS watch so no excuses now!

Just managed to submit £400 via The Big Give - means that all the supprt from my Work Collegues got DOUBLED ! Now thats £800 plus £100 GIFT Aid....thanks to everyone that supported us.....

Hi All -started training now....have started running with Orpington Runners. Ran 6 miles the other night in the Dark / Cold / Rain! But they are all good runners and keep everyone going. Have sold a large order of Cakes and jams / Cutneys at work - we are bringing the orders up on 6th December so will be sending the first cheque to Glenn t the National Hostpital next week. Hi All - My mother Nickie Buckingham is a big Fundraiser for the National Brain Appeal and has almost raised £50,000 over the past 6 years.
She has had a number of Brain operations for a Tumour over the years and raises money for the National Brain Appeal Charity
