Fundraising for Chai Cancer Care
Story
After debating on the best way to pay tribute to my amazing husband and raise money in his memory as today (16th June) we hit the 6 month anniversary of his death, I figure there isn't really any bigger statement than throwing yourself and a friend out of a plane at 10,000 Ft.
So afterJustine (Gough) approached me wanting to do a skydive in Daniels memory how could i not join her????
I plucked up the courage to tell my mum (who mainly cried) but in a round about way told me to go for it so here we are... It's booked for July 27th!
After much deliberation as there are so many charities so close to my heart I have decided to choose two charities who continue to support the children and me on a daily / weekly basis.
1 - Chai Cancer Care have been an invaluable help to us as a family over the last 2 years. Daniel and I enjoyed the benefit of the complimentary therapy which continues to be a huge help to me. Sofia and Manny are both supported by an individual play therapist each week which has not only been a 'safe place' for them and their feelings but also given me peace of mind and re-assurance as to their well-being.
2 - Seed is an incredible organisation with inspirational people who have welcomed us in to their 'family' with love, laughter and learning!! Those who know me well know they will find me at 'wiser women' every Thursday morning for not only my breakfast but also the invaluable talks and lessons which help guide me (and over 100 other ladies) through every day living. The children and I have just returned home from our 3rd Seminar weekend within the last 8 months and can not speak highly enough for this organisation who really do understand and cater for every eventuality allowing you to truly appreciate the quality time you are able to spend both with and without the children as well as introducing us to people who accept you for who you are and will be friends for life.
So please please all dig deep and help us help these fabulous charities help more families get the support they need to help them through the toughest challenge(s) of their lives! Thank you xx Jus and Jus xx
