If you are looking at this you probably know me as you are kind enough to be taking the time to read this.  However if you don't know me then here is  my story.

My name is Kevin McGinn and I am 35 years of age.  The date of my charity night is actually 1 year to the day that I attended the Western Infirmary and was told that they had found a mass in my brain.  At this stage they  did not know what it was until a biopsy was done nearly a week later.  Even though nobody could tell me what was going on I still managed to find new friends on the wards and actually played Cilla Black, Blind Date with one of the nurses and one of the guys on the ward and I'm awaiting the call to buy my hat.

It was a scary time as I did not know what my future was 3 months?, 6 months? or a year?  I had the bioposy done where it was found that I have brain cancer which they suspect has been slow growing for a number of years.

It was a busy ward and  I was overwhelmed with the support from my family and friends and I even got a call of support from Darren Jackson, ex-celtic player. My family and I got each other through this horrendous time of our lives.

I have been  receiving chemotherapy for nearly one year which has been the quickest year of my life and I am so glad to be here to be able to share my story and have my charity night to raise awareness and funds for the Beatson.

The staff from reception (thanks wee Pat and Mandy)  to Professor Rampling and Dr James, in fact everyone have been so supportive and caring which is why I want to do this small charity night to say thank you and keep funds going into the Beatson, Glasgow to help research for longer lives for people living with cancer.

I bet everyone reading this unfortunately knows of someone who is or has been affected by this horrible disease so please help me to raise as much money as possible for the Beatson, Glasgow.

If you wish further information about the charity night then please e-mail me on kevinmcginn1@hotmail.co.uk and any prizes for raffle and auction  would be much appreciated.

Thank you for any donation you can offer and thank you to my family and friends for your ongoing support.  Please if donating state that you wish the money to go to Glasgow University Beatson Brain Tumour Research Fund.
