Story
Benjamin is 24 years old and lives with his Mum in the village of Kasambya in Mubende District, Uganda.
He is the second born of five brothers and sisters.
When Benjamin's father left the family many years ago, his mother was left to struggle alone to educate, feed and clothe the children.
Benjamin's mother earns money by cultivating crops on a small piece of land - the family eat what they need and sell the rest to buy necessities such a school books, clothes and medicines. This is not an easy task.
Benjamin's mother was able to support him to finish his primary education, but could not manage to continue to support him when he moved on to secondary school (the cost of which is considerably higher than primary).
This is when KISS came to know and support Benjamin. He finished his A Levels and has been hoping for a chance to go on to university to obtain a degree in accounting and finance. Benjamin hopes that this will enable him to go on to find a steady job in a field which he loves - and will enable him to break free from the poverty which he has known from childhood.
We are running to raise money for KISS to support Benjamin through university and to give other children like him access to an education and hopefully a better life.
