Story
Having run the New York Marathon last November, I am now in training for the Edinburgh Marathon in May. I am running in support of CLIC Sargent and 10 year old Kirsty Falconer who is a pupil in my mum's class at school. Here is her story...
"My name is Kirsty. On the 3rd April 2012 I had a brain tumour removed which turned out to be cancerous. I started chemotherapy and radiotherapy a few weeks after my operation which was not nice at all and lasted for 6 months.
I am now on what they call maintenance chemo. I get this on a 3 weekly cycle which will take me until January 2014 and then hopefully that will be me.
I have started back at school, which is great as I have missed my classmates. I am only back a few days a week as it's too easy for me to get very tired.
CLIC Sargent have been with my family from the day we found out about my cancer. They give great support to kids and families involved in cancer treatments. Nothing is too much trouble for them."
Kirsty was the mascot at the Dundee v Aberdeen game at Dens Park on Sunday 5th May 2013. Thanks to all those who gave her a cheer and donated to her chosen charity. She had a fantastic day. It meant a lot!
