Story

I have been persuaded (foolishly some might say!) by my 8 year old son Aidan to attempt to cycle from Victoria Park in Hackney to Southend (a mere 60 miles!) on Sunday 30 August 2009 in aid of Saint Francis Hospice.

This is a very worthwhile charity which cares for over 200 patients a day.  They provide support to patients (and their families and carers) who are affected by cancer, heart disease, respiratory disease, motor neurone disease and any other life limiting illness.  All their services are provided free of charge, relying solely on donations.  A relative of a good friend of mine was recently cared for by Saint Francis and my friend could not praise the help and support they received highly enough.  It costs Saint Francis about £6.5million every year to provide their services, so every penny really does count.  Please support me on my bike ride to help make sure Saint Francis can continue with its good work and to make sure my rear end does not suffer for nothing!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please dig deep and donate now.
