Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

We found out about the CRY charity when Karen's friends Allison and Tony Spalding lost their son Charlie tragically on 16th May this year.  Charlie and Karen's daughter Liberty had been friends since birth.  We wanted to do something positive to help raise awareness of the charity.  Hopefully we will be able to raise funds to ensure other children can be screened so as more parents do not suffer from this tragic loss as Allison, Tony and Holly have.

We ran the Nottingham Half Marathon on Sunday 16th September in memory of Charlie.  Chris completed the course in a fantastic two hours and ten minutes, Karen followed closely behind in two hours and thirty six minutes.

We both have the bug for running now!  Karen will be running the London Marathon in memory of Charlie next year.  Visit her webpage www.justgiving.com/karenlindsaybirch we fully intend to run the Nottingham Half Marathon again next year along with the Great North Run!

All money raised will go straight into the Charlie Morettes Memorial fund.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cardiac Risk in the Young will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
