Welcome to my Significant 70 Sockathon updated.

Between mid August 2019 and early September 2021 - a period of 2 years or so - I am going to finish and/or knit from scratch, at least 70 socks; it was going to be 70 pairs but COVID 19 killed my love of knitting in 2020. My personal challenge started with six pairs on my various needles in 2019 and a few pairs in 2020.  I’m currently, 8th January 2021, on socks 29 and 30 or pair 15.

I am using my own stash of yarn mostly but I will purchase more yarn if I need to.  All yarn and time will be provided by me free of charge, ie I am not deducting any expenses.

Because I don’t think I need 70 individual socks (do I?) some may be gifted, sold or donated, perhaps along with some hats and scarves to those requiring a woolly hug. 

And for every pair of socks knitted I will also set aside or seek donations of at least £15 (if it’s me funding the socks) or more which (hopefully) ensures £700 will have been donated to the Cyrenians by the end of the challenge (and allows me to feel no guilt if I keep some of the lovely socks for myself). 😂😂. In addition to the money raised here for my 2020 birthday I managed to raise £270 through an FB birthday fundraiser from all my lovely friends for the Cyrenians.
