Story
The Peace Marathon (The
half-marathon) covers many of 's
famous 'One-thousand Hills' and is run on May 23rd. It provides a fantastic
opportunity to raise money for this 'half-way house' project. For the first
time, many of the permanent members of the Rwanda Aid team are getting involved
in fund raising and entering the Peace Marathon:
Prince is the charismatic and charming Rwanda Aid Country Manager, Gad the
enthusiastic and cheerful Farming Manager and Jonas the multi-talented Rwanda
Aid Welfare Manager.
Other Aid supporters
running the Peace for the half-way
house project include Amy, Andrew, Will, Anokhee and Kath. Amy is a VSO
volunteer who has been based in
since September 2008. Andrew has been a
Aid volunteer since February 2010, Kath has been a Aid volunteer since April
2010 and they have both been involved in the work that is done at Ngwino Nawe
and many other projects. Anokhee is a member of the design team for the
new progressive houses for families who lost their homes in the 2008
earthquake, (http://sites.google.com/site/nkombohousingproject/home) and Will
is
Manager working here from May to August 2010.
