Story
As you all know I have a wee pot belly but my father has a larger one (belly). My brother says I can only fight the genes by quitting beer, liposuction or running. The first option is inconceivable, the second would involve trusting a colleague and thus the only possibility is 26.2 miles of the Edinburgh Marathon.
To ease the pain I though I would break with 43 years of tradition and attempt a charitable act. Well not too charitable as I am asking you for cash.
My pal Alec is 6 years old. He finds learning challenging but he never stops trying and he never stops smiling. Last August Alec started at a new school. He is really happy there but there are no swings or climbing frames in the playground. He and his pals would laugh even more if they had a trampoline.
So please make a wee donation so that Alec and his pals can bounce and laugh at playtime
Thanks
Ken
Friends of Redhall School Playground Project
Friends of Redhall School is a registered charity set up by the parents and teachers of Redhall School to enhance the education and development of the pupils by providing or assisting in the provision of equipment and activities not supplied by the local education authority.
Redhall School caters for the additional support needs of a broad spectrum of primary school children with moderate learning difficulties and wide ranging abilities and disabilities. The school of 64 pupils moved to a new purpose-built site next to Longstone Primary in south Edinburgh in June 2009. Unfortunately the new site has no external play equipment which is a major disadvantage to the pupils, many of whom struggle with imaginative play and/or team games and need support and creative opportunities to develop both social as well as physical skills. As a result, the Friends Charity is seeking to raise £50-60,000 to fund 3-4 external play areas for the different age groups within the school.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
