As you may have heard I have in a moment of weakness booked a place in the Jurassic Coast Challenge.

The Jurassic Coast Challenge is a 78.6 mile run over three days across one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the UK. In affect it is a marathon a day over three days, cool uh!

Apart from the purely selfish reasons of proving I can do this, I also wanted to help support a very special charity that I have a personnel link to and that is Disability Challengers

Disability Challengers is a children’s charity dedicated to providing essential opportunities to disabled children, young people and their families. They enable children to challenge their impairments through play and help the whole family at high pressure times – namely, at the weekends, after school and during the holidays.  As one parent said this summer “The only respite that we are eligible for, we would never have survived without Challengers”.

 

Disability Challengers support over 1,000 children through permanent facilities in Farnham and Guildford and various community based projects across the county.  This year Disability Challengers celebrate its 30th Birthday and we hope to develop and expand our schemes to include even more disabled children and young people.
