Story

Emma was committed to helping others. She cared about how people felt and through her own experience of post natal depression, supported many families through Acacia Family Support.

Emma had a vision and a burden to use her experience of the illness to benefit others, and so Acacia was born.

Emma paid attention to the little things that made a big difference in people lives, particularly families adjusting to having a new addition, with a mum feeling poorly at the same time.

Emma passed away a year ago now and in her memory I have set up Emma’s Gift. The fund provides users of the Acacia service with a welcome pack full of useful goodies, as well as other provisions that may be needed by the family. Each need is assessed by the Acacia worker that engages with the family. Emma’s Gift aims to add a nice touch to the already valuable work of Acacia.

On October 2-9 Kevin Borg and Wayne Powers will be taking on the challenge of off road cycling the Camino de Santiago route which is an ancient pilgrims route that stretches for 500 miles from France into Spain, with over 40,000 feet of climbing its a serious challenge for any cyclist. The ride will be completed in just 7 days unsupported, so Kevin and Wayne will be travelling light, taking on the Pyrenees Mountains on Day 1.

With your help, my aim is to raise £5000 to top up the fund I have created so families can continue to receive extra support that will make a difference helping families to get to a better place. Please help me achieve my goal. Thank you x.
