We provide practical and emotional support to help families with life-limited children

Story

Hello my name is Kevin Philp, I’m Club Captain at Cumberwell Park Golf Club near Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire.

Each year the Club Captain selects a charity to support and for me the choice of Julia’s House was easy because I want to help families facing unimaginable heartbreak - the knowledge that their child may not live into adulthood is horrendous. Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much-needed break. Amazingly, Julia’s House has to raise 97 percent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service which is why I have chosen to support them. Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing difference to these families.

We’re going to have a week of fundraising activities in July but here are more details about the “Dawn until Dusk” GOLFATHON.

Last years Captain Tony Kujawa amazingly carried out an 81 hole challenge in aid of the NHS. This year I foolishly decided to push the challenge further and attempt to complete 90-holes, 5 x 18 hole rounds, during daylight hours on Wednesday 13th July. This will be further than a marathon - but I'll also be attempting to hit a golf ball on my way.

You can sponsor me per hole, per stableford point or just make a donation. Every penny counts to this great cause.

I’m aiming to raise £10,000 with the support of our club members, friends, guests, partners & visitors at Cumberwell and hope to exceed this target for what is a truly worthy cause.
