Story

 NGO Introduction

The Anjuman Falah-o-Behbood, Sarwar Wali D.G.Khan is a non-governmental organization based at D.G.Khan-Punjab. Established in 1977 the NGO is dedicated to make the move in developmental activities in . Organization has a team of forward looking social actors, educationists and professionals form various fields, having significant experience of working with the development on national level. The plight of the southern in all spheres of life is beyond description, particularly in the field of education, health, and sanitation. Environmental population is rapidly increased and resources are dwindling day by day, as there is no planning to provide basic need of life to such fast growing population. Woman have no sense of right in this region, the situation in the field of male chauvinism is on its level great. Organization’s mission is to assist the community who trailing far behind than any of the developed region of the country to build capacity of common man so that may achieve sustainable equity and advancement. Woman of the area are with strictly delimited span of activities and so dependent. The Organization has been struggling for social uplift of the rural communities in District D.G.Khan Punjab. South Punjab is central area of the and D.G.Khan is joined roads for NWFP, upper , Balochistan, and Sindh. AFB has been focusing on following development areas from the date of registration that include health, rehabilitation, governance, education, human rights & gender and community development.

RUNNING SERVICES                    

·        AFB is providing services in above mentioned development sectors. In all sectors

·        AFB is facilitating the communities according to the local needs and atmosphere                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               in order to bring change through participatory development approaches.

·        The NGO’s team is also facilitating the target communities through Free Dispensary and free Medical Camp in rural areas.

·        A for Women in its own building is also running under the organization.

·        Arrange different sports event in the rural area for the young generation.

Vision

             Anjuman Falah-o-Behbood, Sarwar Wali D.G.Khan’s vision is a progressive society as justice is multifaceted. A term encompassing the wide range of humanitarian rights and wants, and only by installing justice we can remain true to the earth, our home.

               Anjuman Falah-o-Behbood, Sarwar Wali D.G.Khan mission is to make the society non-discriminative, in satisfying basic need and providing equal opportunities to both men and woman, poor and disabled, so that every body should have an equal chance for their talent to thrive on.

Objectives:

Making the society just and prosperous through participatory methods of development. Mother & Child Health Care Health education & basic awareness about HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis T.B etc. Raising awareness level, in community concerning socio economic development. Enhance literacy and quality education in the program areas. Provide basic health and hygiene education and improve functioning of existing services as a means of community mobilization. Empower people, especially women through group formation, training and networking. Cultural activities to highlight social issues and find solutions. Access of primary education to the illiterate and ignorant community Initiate the Participatory Approach among community To create awareness about Human Rights To Empower the Women Capacity Buildings Advocacy To identify the Development Issues of District and Mobilize the Available Resources for their Solution Make Enabling Atmosphere for Democratic Governance and Effectual Populace’ Participation through informed and effectual voice of the poor, particularly workers, women. To create Awareness in Masses on Gender Discriminations, Poverty, Illiteracy and other Social Evils. To contribute in poverty alleviation through provision of basic education, promoting awareness, imparting employable skills infrastructure development and micro small enterprise development

Background

Socio/ Geo Strategic Situation

     The Dera Ghazi Khan District is located in strip between the and the Koh-Suleman range of mountains separating it from the Balochistan province. It is surround by Dera Ismail Khan District on the East across which lie the Districts of Muzaffargarh and Layyah, Loralai and Dera Bugti Districts of Balochistan province lies on the west separated by the of mountain

     This remotest corner of the south has been deprived of his due share for development. Which causes poverty, unemployment, illiteracy & ill health. The majority of communities of this area are sustaining their lives below poverty line.

     To overcome the needs of the area and to facilitate the community an NGO Anjuman Falah-o-Behbood (AFB) retrospectively established by a committed group of philanthropist with a theme of true spirit of participatory development approach.

     Anjuman Falah-o-Behbood (AFB) is an NGO committed to promote creative and effective solutions to problems that impede social development with in the highly oppressed people irrespective of race, gender, religious, affiliation or political persuasion.
