Story
The National 3 Peaks Challenge is 26 miles of rough, rocky and hilly terrain, in 24 hours, over 3 of the largest peaks in the UK, in Scotland, England and Wales. It's not just the climbing - it's getting between the 3 mountains fast enough to make it in the time limit. Many people say this is the ultimate British challenge - and I want to find out if I'm up to the job!!! It starts at 4pm, climbing Ben Nevis in the dark. Then you climb Scafell Pike early morning, and finally, Snowdon - ending up in beautiful Wales. We're doing this on the 17th July 2010.
Anyone who knows me well will know this is going to be an epic challenge that will push me to my limits are perhaps to an early grave, but its for a great cause (see below) and every bit counts to helps kids across the world!!!!
Getting treatment for a cleft lip and palate isn't always easy - but it should be. A simple operation at 6 months old only takes 1.5 hours - 3 hours and it can transform a child's life, so that they can live a completely normal life.
CLEFT is a charity which aims to research the unanswered problems in improving care for children born with cleft lip and palate. They aim to push the boundaries of conventional treatment by funding research into improving operating techniques and by looking at the underlying reasons for cleft deformities.
