The reason for this challenge is because as a young man Ted would make this journey every other weekend on his bike to visit Joyce, whom he met while she was displaced during the second world war. Their love blossomed and they went on to enjoy a 65 year marriage before their unfortunate passing within the space of 3 weeks of each other earlier this year.
