Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On 30th June 2010 my team and I will begin the climb of Kilimanjaro to raise vital funds for the Sparkle Appeal. Please note that all money that is donated via this website will go directly to the charity and not to pay for the costs of the trek.
The Sparkle Appeal is a local South Wales charity aiming to raise £1.5 million to equip a purpose built centre that will be a hub for children with complex disabilities to have treatment, care, information, leisure facilities and consultations all under one roof! The centre will also provide family support activities. It will incorporate fully accessible disabled sports facilities with the only designated wheelchair sports area in South Wales. We will be trekking for 7 days along the Lemosho route to reach our goal of Kibo, Kilimanjaro's main ice-capped peak. This is one of the world's largest volcanoes and stands at 5895m. Our weekly training sessions have begun and we are already undertaking a variety of fundraising activities.
My personal goal is as much about raising awareness of the appeal and fundraising as it is about getting fit, facing a new challenge and pushing myself to new limits.
