Gareth Roberts, Paul Ross, Nichol Weatherston, John Morshead, , and Paul Gillespie will be walking up (and down) Mount Kilimanjaro from 2
nd February to the 12
th February 2010.
This is part of a number of our 40
th birthday celebrations or the start of our collective mid life crisis – you decide.
The mountain is 5,895m high (19,340ft) and we will be following the The Machame Route which is 26km long. There is a chance of problems with the altitude but I understand that this gets easier with age so we should all be fine.
We have decided that as part of this momentous trip we would like to raise some money for charity and we have selected Starlight Childrens Foundation, St Oswald's Hospice and the Migraine Trust. This is the page for St Oswald's Hospice
St Oswalds Hospice
St Oswald's provides hospice care for adults and children. Situated in Gosforth, , St Oswald’s purpose-built facilities offer a range of flexible services to North East families. St Oswald's follows a holistic approach that aims to address not just physical symptoms, but also spiritual and emotional needs too.
