Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my justgiving page.

I am raising funds for the Mount Vernon Treatment Centre to help purchase a Scalp Cooling Unit or cold cap as it's otherwise known.

A cold cap is used during chemotherapy to reduce hair loss.

I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in October 2020 and after surgery I underwent 18 weeks of chemotherapy. I was lucky enough to have access to a 'cold cap' which I wore during my treatment. It worked and meant that I didn't lose the majority of my hair. It was the best thing for me psychologically and I believe it helped me remain positive.

There are only 6 cold caps at the treatment centre in Mount Vernon.  I would like to raise funds to purchase a double unit, total cost £44,000. This would enable more people to have access to this amazing system and take the pressure off the nurses trying to access the units for patients.

I finished my treatment in April and my scan was clear.

Please help me raise the funds so that more people can benefit from the scalp cooling system.

Thank you.
