Story
Dear Friends
Yes, you read that correctly….. Kim and Leo have decided to take part in a Norwood Cycle Challenge from 29 October to 6 November 2022. It is off-road 8 hours a day, 570km along the Elephant Highway in Botswana (from Maun to the Victoria Falls). The temperature is predicted to be 38 degrees, and most of the accommodation is camping, so even sleeping will be challenging.
This will be Leo's first Norwood ride, and Kim's 5th.

Norwood is an amazing UK charity supporting vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs and people with learning disabilities. This year, Jake Codosh is riding with us from the Norwood Village. Jake is a really great young man, non-verbal and autistic but a master with a paint brush (see pics in the gallery above) and you may have seen his artwork often appearing on Facebook.
At the beginning of May Leo bought a cheap bike! and Kim reattached her saddle to a very old mountain bike, and we started training. We are both relying on the fact that the bikes we will be hiring in Botswana are going to be better than the ones we are training on, and so will make the real ride much easier 😊
We know that you all get many requests for sponsorship, but we hope that you will be able to support us in our aim to raise £6,500 for Norwood. Any contribution would be immensely appreciated, both by the residents at Norwood and us.
We are paying the costs of the trip ourselves, so all the money that you donate goes directly to helping Norwood.
The photos in our gallery truly encapsulate the ‘Sprit of Norwood’ that gave Kim the mental strength to complete her cycle challenges in Tanzania 2019 and Croatia 2020….and is the reason why we are choosing to ride for this brilliant charity in Botswana.
Once again, thank you in anticipation
Kim & Leo
