Oh yes, I am going to run the London Marathon this year! As most of you are aware I always enjoy a challenge. I am well into my training and boy is it hard.
I am running the 26.2 mile course to raise money for a very worthy cause. SENSE is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deaf blind providing expert advice and information as well as specialist services to deaf blind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. They also support people who have sensory impairments with additional disabilities.
I would like to thank all the support i have received from both the staff and patients from both Pitshanger dental care, Ealing and from Village dental care, Kingsclere. Without this support and donations we would not be able to do this marathon.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I would very much appreciate everyones support in this challenging task. Please help me reach my target.
You can either sponsor per mile for example £1 per mile will be £26.20 or you can give a one-off donation.
Heres just a few examples of what your money can do:
£5 could buy a set of musical bells to help stimulate even the tiniest amount of a deafblind child’s hearing in music therapy.
£7.50 could pay for a deafblind child to experience sailing and feel the wind on their face on their Sense holiday.
£15 could pay for a tactile book to develop a child’s sense of sight and touch at a Sense Family Centre.
£25 could buy an interactive light tube to help stimulate a deafblind child’s remaining sight.
£50 could help pay for a deafblind child’s vital first assessment.
So please dig deep and donate now.
