Hi everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  This is the year that I will be running the Virgin London Marathon for a great children’s charity Whizz-Kidz.

Most of you know that I love to run, but possibly running in excess of 4 hours on race day is going to be pushing my limits.  Lets not mention the hours/miles of training runs during these cold winter months, brr and scaling back my socializing to the point that my Saturday nights will be spent ploting the route of my long Sunday run. This will, however, be good for my liver :-)!

My motivation to carry me the 26.2miles over the finish line will be knowing that I am raising money for such a great cause.

Whizz-Kidz is a charity that is all about giving disabled children and young people the independence to enjoy an active childhood – at home, at school and at play.

By providing them with customised mobility equipment, training, advice and life skills, Whizz-Kidz actually gives them something much more important; the independence to be themselves.

Disabled children have virtually no chance of getting a powered wheelchair on the NHS and the service Whizz-Kidz provide has an enormous impact on young people’s lives. They work with local NHS wheelchair services to joint fund mobility equipment where possible, but their goal is to build more strategic partnerships with them so that they can pool their expertise and resources and help many more children. Their recently launched three year pilot partnership with Tower Hamlets Primary Care Trust aims to deliver an enhanced service for children in the borough and London wide.
