Hi everyone, Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

At the beginning of this year I decided to set myself a challenge and run the Great North Run to raise money for The Brooke. Crazy I know as I have NEVER run this distance before, but I really am passionate about this organisation and the things that they do... so here goes:

The reason I have chosen the Brooke to raise money for (and working in the non-profit sector, believe me I know a LOT of charities!) is because they do some AMAZING international development work in the world's most poorest regions, but everyone thinks they are just a "donkey" charity. They are not at all.

They go into communities, teach people how to look after their animals, which means they work more effectively, and their owners can earn more money. With this money they can send their children to school and generally live in much better conditions. In short - they are carrying out development work in a really sustainable way, which after living in Senegal, I know is so important for developing countries.
