I have been lucky enough to secure a place on the International Citizen Service programme which gives 18-25 year olds the chance of a lifetime to volunteer for an established charity in a developing country. I have been placed in Bolivia, where I will be volunteering with International service for 12 weeks starting in April 2014. I am passionate about this opportunity I have been given where I can make a difference in the lives of those marginalised by society.

I will be working on projects involving women, young people and those hindered by disabilities and ensuring they have the basic human rights and secure better livelihoods. The International Citizen Service project is organised and funded by the UK government and I am required to raise a minimum of £800 in order to secure my place.

The money you donate will not go directly to the overseas placement I will be working on but instead to the programme as a whole. It will ensure this opportunity continues to be available for young people like myself, who wish to contribute to something worthwhile and make positive changes in the lives of others by having the chance to volunteer in developing countries.
