Off tomorrow - eek! It's come around so quickly!!!
In September we are embarking on a once in a lifetime challenge, cycling over 470 kilometres (292 miles - ouch!) through Madagascar to raise money for LEPRA, which works to fight diseases of poverty.
Leprosy is one of the oldest and most stigmatised of diseases and despite being curable is still prevalant in a number of poorer countries. Madagascar is one of the most leprosy-endemic countries in the world. The remoteness of villages means it's difficult to find and treat people with leprosy - some villages can only be reached by plane followed by arduous motorbike journeys on rough roads.
This bike ride is going to be really challenging, cycling on rough roads in the African heat. Along the way we'll be visiting some of the LEPRA projects and meeting Madagascan people who will greatly benefit from the money we're raising!! So please, dig deep.
All of the £3k we're hoping to raise will go directly to the work LEPRA does as we've covered all of the costs of the trip ourselves.
Many many thanks,
Laura and Tom xx
