Alopecia UK is a national charity providing support, community and education to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. The charity relies on individual fundraisers and donors to continue its work. Alopecia UK receives no government or statutory funding.

Story

On Sunday 13 July ten of us will be running (or some approximation thereof) the British 10k in a bid to raise £10k for Alopecia UK.

I developed alopecia in early 2007, just a few months after turning 21. In the space of three months I went from a full head of hair with a tiny bald patch, to buying my first wig. Seven years and countless wigs later, it's something that I've learned to live with, accept, and sometimes even embrace - as those of you who have painted my head or endured me playing the "bald card" will be able to testify.

So raising money for Alopecia UK is a cause that's very close to my heart and I really appreciate your support - and your money - in helping us take the charity to the next level and do more to help those affected by alopecia.
