Story

HIYA and Thank you so very much for taking the time to visit mine and Andys JustGiving page - for our Great South Run on 24th October 2010!.

Its as simple as this really,,,,,,, in February 2009 I was sat in intensive care after a day long bout of major surgery to clear the carciniod tumors that I was diagnosed with during the previous December. My life had truly fallen apart and I had never felt so weak or ill as I did then, but I promsed myself 2 things - that i would see my sons first day at school and as soon as I was able, that I would do all I could to raise money and awareness of Carciniod Cancer (Neuroendocrine Tumours- NETs).

The NET Patient Foundation is the only registered charity in the UK helping patients and their families to live with Neuroendocrine Tumours. They also work hard to raise awareness of this unusual cancer, and raise funds for medical research.

18 months of treatment on - and with the help of some truly amazing people,  I am now on top of this horrible disease - I am ,of course, one of the lucky ones.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP us by making a donation of whatever you can afford. Whether we raise £10 or £100, you’ll also be helping to make people aware of NETs.

Lots of Love

Layla and Andy
