Story
Hello... so I've been thinking about doing a marathon for a while, i just found out that I didn't get into the London Marathon and I'm gutted. Whilst reeling from the news i was convinced into doing the Brighton marathon by my friend Hannah, among other things she said ...'well if nothin else we might get skinny'. After signing up I realised that a marathon involves running for a whole 26 miles!! futher than i have ever run before in my life by a LOT!! (oh and if you're going to do it properly in a respectable time it also involves training for months and months beforehand).
So i thought that if i am going to torture myself, train in the rain and cold, dark nights, winter wind and get blistered feet, chaffing and whatever else runners get (i've heard something about runners nipple - it that just a boy thing??) then i might aswell do it for a good cause.
So I have chosen to support Right To Play - it is an amazing charity whose aim is 'To improve the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace.' How cool is that?
you can read more about it here RIGHT TO PLAY
So a big thank you if you have decided to donate. I think this is a great cause and i hope that i can do a good job raising money. Wish me luck...it's going to be a hard winter. eeeeek!
Love Leanne xx
