Project Brazil is finally here - one sleep to go! Tomorrow we fly to Brasilia, arriving on Monday and transferring to Bandeira and the local community where we will be building classrooms, toilets and a play area at the school. From Tuesday - Saturday, we will carry out the building work.

Next Sunday, we will visit an amazing local waterfall and put the finishing touches to our work. The following day, we will hand the school back to the community, play a football match against a local team and have a celebratory meal in the evening. Next Tuesday, after a toast to my mom, Jane, exactly twenty years since she died from cancer, we will board our plane home, arriving on Wednesday.

Project Brazil promises to be a truly amazing experience - thank you to everyone who has helped me to get this far.

The project combines three of the things that I care most about: beating cancer, education for young people as a long-term solution to poverty... and of course, the beautiful game of football!

I am paying the costs (£1,500) of this trip myself but that still leaves £2,500 to raise, all of which will go directly to funding world-class research into beating bowel cancer. Anything you are able to contribute towards this goal will be greatly appreciated.
