Hi, I'm Tish and on the 23rd  March 2024 I will be taking part in an Ultra White Collar Charity boxing match to raise money for The Fostering Network.

As some of you may know, I have been a part of the fostering system from the age of 7. After being removed from my family home at such a young age, I wasn't sure what the future held for me or where I was going to end up and despite the rough start and the abnormalities I had in my childhood, it soon changed and became one that every child should experience. 

From the moment I stepped foot into what was going to be my new home, the support I was given from the people I am now able to call family was like no other. It was like I was being given a second chance at life and I knew that this time my life was going to completely change and for the better. 

With the amazing support of my foster family who took me in and raised me as their own, Little  7 year old Tish went from being a neglected, anxious child to the 19 year old Tish who is someone to be proud of. 

If it wasn’t for charities like The Fostering Network who provided my foster family with support whilst being foster carers, I wouldn’t have been given the childhood of a lifetime, opportunities and experiences that I never even knew existed and have dreams I didn’t even know about come true.

Even though I have had the most positive of experiences whilst being in the care system, this isn’t always the case for a large number of children and young people due to the shortages of funding and number of foster carers in the Uk.

Every child deserves to have an environment that allows them to be themselves but more importantly feel safe.

Based on recent statistics approximately 30,000 more children come into the care system each year. Therefore, the Fostering Network says that thousands of foster families (as a minimum)are needed in the UK in the next 12 months alone, in order to ensure all foster children can live with the right family for them.

With your help, we can provide children and young people with a safe and loving home for them to grow and succeed. Whilst I understand that money is tight for everyone at the moment, the smallest of donations really do make a difference and so does sharing this page.
