Story
My inspiration for running the Royal Parks Half Marathon is my two year old second cousin, Alexis.
Over the past 9 months, and to this day, Alexis has been subjected to an ordeal that no young child should have to endure. In early October 2012 she was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia. Alexis successfully fought off Leukaemia and having endured chemotherapy along with a bone-marrow transplant, she is now 100% cancer free. However during the time she was hospitalised with Leukaemia, Alexis contracted another potentially lethal disease, Legionnaires disease. Thankfully Alexis again proved how much fight she has & despite a few false-starts she is now living free from the constraints of the intensive care unit.
Having endured a number of desperate & trying times, Alexis and her family & now doing their all to ensure she enjoys a childhood that is as normal as possible for a two year old girl.
A donation of any size would be greatly appreciated and although your kindness will not directly impact Alexis, it will go towards supporting children in a similar predicament to herself, and ensuring they have the best possible help here in the UK.
Thanks,
Liam
